FINANCE FOR NON-FINANCIAL MANAGERS

This seminar is aimed for non-financial executives, both middle and top management. Basic financial knowledge that all executives need, regardless of their academic or professional background, is covered in this seminar. The purpose of this seminar is to teach the participants about the use of the information in the financial statements of a company and the use of financial ratios in order to analyze its overall situation, as well as understand issues as financial structure, solvency, liquidity, profitability, cash flow and an introduction to economic value creation in the firm (EVA®).

This seminar is a “must” for every manager or executive regardless of its professional background or responsibility area.

ADVANCED FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

The purpose of this seminar is to get into a deep analysis of the financial situation of the company. Financial ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, financial structure of the company, comparison with industry financial information, and an analysis of the economic value creation in the firm (EVA®).

This type of analysis must be useful to anticipate the outcome of a company, as well as to help in the implementation of strategies aligned with the creation of economic value by affecting the variables in the real world of business (marketing, production and human resources).

INVESTMENT PROJECT FINANCIAL EVALUATION

To provide the knowledge regarding the financial evaluation methods and its use to make the right selection on a capital budgeting decision, as well as for any long term decision, either investment or financing.

In this seminar topics like time value of money, discount rate, free cash flow, net present value (VPN), internal rate of return (IRR), payback period, profitability index and annuities are analyzed and used.

COST ANALYSIS FOR DECISION MAKING

To provide tools for the managerial decision making based in identifying and using relevant accounting information as well as budget and cost techniques. This seminar is based in simple numerical methods to review the basic concepts that can turn a business and profitability analysis into a wrong conclusion due to a wrong interpretation or a wrong analysis.

Some topics analyzed in this seminar have to do with the cost-volume-profit model, breakeven point, fixed and variable costs, direct and indirect costs, allocation of indirect costs, direct and indirect costing, and relevant costing.

ECONOMICS FOR NON-ECONOMISTS

To provide basic theoretical concepts for the understanding and basic analysis of the economic information that an executive receives everyday through the media (newspapers, magazines, radio, television, internet) and that is essential for an environment analysis and to support decision-making in business.

Some topics in this seminar are gross domestic product, the recession, the income per capita, income distribution, definition of inflation, inflation measurement and indices, interest rates, reference rates, balance of payments, the exchange rate and unemployment measurement.
